Availability: 69 in stock
  • Brand: Aeolian
  • Modified Item: No
  • Custom Bundle: No
  • Condition: YOU WERE MEANT FOR ME (1929) is in GOOD vintage condition. The box, however, has been reinforced with tape! The tab is firm (slight lifting at top, easily reinforced), there are no marks, tears, and very little yellowing or edge creasing. Plays beautifully!! This tune was introduced by Charles King in the 1929 musical film The Broadway Melody and the film The Show of Shows also in 1929. Later, the song was included in the 1940 musical film Hullabaloo and in Penny Serenade (1941, with Irene Dunne and Cary Grant). Gene Kelly sang the song and danced to it with Debbie Reynolds in the 1952 musical film Singin' in the Rain. Sample Lyrics: You were meant for me, I was meant for you. Nature patterned you and when she was done, You were all the sweet things rolled up in one!
