Description
This unique piece pays tribute to the city of CRUMLIN (Dublin) IRELAND. Although exact age is unknown, it was found among antique porcelain and other pieces saved by a relative of an Irish grandmother. Made from tin, the sleek design of a sailboat is attached to the oval "dish". Centered, is a raised SHAMROCK above a banner reading CRUMLIN. The green substance filling the leaves within the setting feels like a resin of some sort but exact material is unknown. Height to the top of the sails is just shy of 4 1/2". The oval "plate" measures 3 5/8" horizontally, 2 1/4" vertically with a curved 1/4" rim. Base reads:Reg.No.813811.
Surface wear on the metal is evident here and there, but as you can see, it remains very reflective! Whether you believe that the three leaves represent the holy trinity (Father,Son, Holy Spirit) or Faith, Hope and Love, this rare piece remains a salute to Crumlin!
