William deLillo (Delillo, de Lillo, De Lillo),
born 1925 in Antwerp, Belgium, relocated
to the United States in the 1950s. During
the 1950s he worked as a designer of
high end fine jewelry for Tiffany & Co.,
Cartier, as well as Harry Winston in New
York. In 1967 he started his own company,
House of DeLillo, along with Robert Clark,
who at one point had been the head
designer for the Miriam Haskell company.
House of De Lillo's jewelry was often one
of a kind, couture, runway pieces, or limited
editions. He worked with exclusive clients,
such as Elizabeth Taylor, in producing
some of his pieces. Some of their fabulous
collections were bought by Neiman Marcus,
    I. Magnin, and Bonwit Teller, as well as
couture designers like Adolfo, Bill Blass and
Norman Norell. In 1976 De Lillo and Clark
relocated to France, where they created
jewelry pieces for Nina Ricci, Yves Saint
    Laurent, Schiaparelli, and high society
European grandes dames. In 1986 they
relocated back to the United States and
settled in the Paradise Valley area of
Arizona. Many of De Lillo's designs over
the years, have reflected obvious sculptural
influenced aspects to them, giving insight to
his long time deep interest in that art form.
In Arizona these interests were explored
much more in depth, as is apparent by his
works from that period. DeLillo continued
living and working in Arizona until his death
    in 2011.

A beautiful William deLillo, rare limited
edition, mid century modern, 3 piece brutalist,
necklace, bracelet and earrings runway set.
This 1970s set was acquired from the William
deLillo heir to estate, and was created by
William deLillo in the 1970s. Each piece in
the set consists of anodized silver nail head
pieces and 14k gold balls (please see photos).
The necklace is in a collar style, graduating
in circumference from the inside to the outer
edge. There are three rows of gold balls, that
separate two rows of 3D elements, which resemble
a blacksmith nail with the shaft bent back
around to form an inward bow shape before
returning to the head. This causes the nail
heads to form architectural, pointed pyramid
type structures that rise up from the rows
of gold balls (please see photos). The inside
facing edges of the pyramid type structures,
have toothed type, cross cut ridges, and the
outside edges have grooved ruts that run the
length of the shaft (please see photos). The
top row of gold balls has an inside circumference
of approximately 12 1/2 inches, the center
row approximately 16 inches and the bottom
row approximately 19 1/2 inches. It is approximately
2 inches at widest point by 3/4 inches at
deepest point. The weight of the necklace
is approximately 8.5 ounces at 264 grams.
The necklace is signed "#6 deLillo/Clark"
and it also has a label with the numbers
"5650" (please see photos). The bracelet
also has three rows of gold balls and two
rows of nail head elements. It's inside
circumference is approximately 6 1/2 inches.
It is also approximately 2 inches at widest
point by 3/4 inches at deepest point. The
weight of the bracelet is approximately
5.9 ounces at 183 grams. The bracelet is
signed "deLillo/Clark #6" (please see photos).
Both the necklace and bracelet are marked
on the clasps, 14KP for 14 karat gold plum,
and Sterling for 0.925 silver (please see
photo). The earrings are clip on. Each earring
is approximately 1 1/4 inches at longest
point by 1 1/8 inches at widest point by
1 inch at deepest point. The weight of
the earrings is approximately 22.5 grams.
Who ever owns this beautiful set will be
the bearer of a rare, limited edition,
museum quality, treasure by an internationally
world renown fine jewelry designer, who has
passed and taken his creative genus with
him. This fabulous piece is in excellent
original condition. Please see all photos
as they are a major part of this item's
    conditional description.
