    Description

    Welcome!
I'm offering for your consideration a beautiful old pair of unsigned Zuni earrings which are depicted in one and a half pages in one of the books, but the artist isn't identified. Clearly that author felt they were sufficiently wonderful to warrant so much book space, and I think they are wonderful, too! The work is impeccable, with a central sun face of mosaic overlay or mosaic inlay that is 3/8" in diameter. That panel is plain bezel set, then framed in a small twisted wire and then framed in the New Mexico Zia design. These are clip on earrings and they date from the 1940s to the 1960s and they are extremely fine. Their overall size is 13/16" square and very light on the ears, they each weigh 2.6grams. The metal is at least coin silver at .900 or Sterling at .925. The natural stones are turquoise, either coral or red abalone, jet, mother of pearl and / or abalone. They are in superb vintage, wearable and collectible condition. I see a small ding in the silver Zia in the magnified pictures, not an issue of any kind to the eye. Many prefer to wear clip-ons so I did not convert them, but I can have it done, if the buyer would like. And the buyer could decide about post placement. I was thinking slightly off center, with the post behind the vertical white line between the turquoise and coral. This conversion must be done with cold solder (laser) so not to harm the stones and shells.
The work is very fine and they are in superb vintage wearable and collectible condition. Highly collectible and very hard to find. Always appropriate and in the best of taste, a rare find. RED TAPE:

Attributions on many of the old pieces of Native American jewelry are sometimes a moving target. I am sincerely committed to ongoing accuracy.

Most pieces are museum worthy and gallery suitable, sold to you at great pricing. I vet every item carefully for quality and condition, and offer you the best. I want you to be able to rely on me for top quality, superb items that are often unique and rare examples of old antique vintage southwest, indian, native american and fine gold and gemstones, whether you're starting a collection or adding to one, or want something great to wear or gift. My goal is that all my buyers are delighted, that my special pieces find the right homes.
