    Description

Very unique one of a kind rawhide Native American Shield Art would make a great statement piece in any collection.
This was once for sale at Tony Sheda's Trading Post in Duluth MN (long since out of business). It's been in a private collection for many years.
Very tightly stretched raw hide on a natural wood frame. It appears to be one continual long narrow branch that it was very carefully and artfully stretched and tied onto, slightly overlapping in one spot, along the side.    The branch varies between about 3/4-1" in diameter. But as it is very natural and hand created, it does not sit fully flat, and is thus a bit thicker than an 1"
It is believed to be a vintage beaver skin, hand worked, stretched and dried and tanned. Then art designs painted in great colors. A few minor scratches in the paint.
Very large - approximately 36" long and 19" wide. As seen in the picture the back is crisscrossed in leather bindings for holding onto it or hanging.
Please look through photos carefully as they are part of the description.  I took photos both inside and out to try and better represent this piece.
