    Description:
This is a piece of Native American Indian jewelry history.  Jaclas were once used as earrings and were tied on. In later years the Native Americans tied them on the bottom of a turquoise necklace and it symbolized wealth.  This pair is tied together so it can be worn as a choker or tied to the bottom of another necklace.  The stones used are excellent quality and have interesting matrix.  The central bottom pieces, made of shell, were to depict corn, a very important part of pueblo life.  The back of the jaclas are finished off with six coral beads on each side. They are strung on very strong string which enables them to have fluid movement.  These are a wonderful pair of jaclas and a good addition for any true collector of handmade Native American Indian jewelery. This necklace has not been previously owned and comes from our collection of older pieces.
