Includes a colorful vintage official guidebook for Kilkenny Castle, an Anglo-Norman stronghold built nearly 850 years ago, turned over from private ownership to a group of local residents in 1967 (from the National Parks and Monuments Service, circa 1980); and another vintage official guidebook for Castletown, one of the great country houses of Ireland, built in the Palladian style in 1722, for William Connolly, theSpeaker of the Irish House of Commons (from Desmond Guinness/Irish Georgian Society, circa 1970).
